About HyperKelp

Across the world’s oceans, critical data about environmental conditions, climate change, and maritime activity remains hard to collect in real time. Traditional systems are costly, slow, and limited in reach. HyperKelp was born to change that.

Our mission is to democratize ocean intelligence — giving researchers, governments, and maritime operators persistent, high-quality data from the ocean’s surface, anywhere on the globe.

This sets context and connects emotionally with readers before diving into tech details.

Kelp Smart Buoys (KSB)

At the heart of HyperKelp’s work is the Kelp Smart Buoy (KSB) — a modular, sensor-agnostic platform that collects, processes, and transmits ocean and atmospheric data in real time. These buoys can host a wide array of sensors to measure water quality, acoustic signals, carbon levels, and more, delivering actionable insights through intuitive dashboards.
