Kelp Smart Buoy M-Class (KSB-M)

The KSB-M is a sonobuoy-deployable marine intelligence platform. Its modular architecture supports distributed sensing, perception, and communication payloads for defense missions. KSB-M automates processing of RF, acoustic, and other real time sensor feeds. Its smaller hull supports existing aerial deployment modes to enable rapid installation of sensing layers.

KSB-M adapts the proven modular design of KSB-A to deliver a more scalable intelligence capability at a fraction of the cost of cooperating sensor layers.

Scalable and Familiar Build

Although the KSB-M hosts novel AI-enabled counter-hypersonic, SIGINT, and electronic warfare payloads, it’s built into a standard A-Size sonobuoy form factor. Because the KSB-M’s A-Size sonobuoy build is already familiar to our sailors, entire sensing layers can be deployed with minimal to no operational modification. This means that pre-existing ASW sonobuoy launch infrastructure can emplace large-scale grids of KSB-M platforms anywhere in the world in hours.
